A Burglary at Stop & Go, An Attempt at Isabella's Deli

Police responded to a commercial burglary and an attempted burglary early in the morning on Jan. 4.

At 12:03 a.m. the alarm at Stop & Go Food Mart, 615 Main Street, was activated and officers found the glass door broken. The cash register had been pulled off the front counter and onto the floor, where officers also found some money, according to the report.

Nothing else appeared to have been taken, police said.

Later that morning, an attempted break-in was reported at Isabella's Deli, 115 Main Street, in Crescent Village Shopping Center.

Police said the bottom square window of the door had been smashed sometime between 4 and 5 a.m.

Do most convenience stores keep money in the cash register over night?

There was just a small amount of cash for the morning. Around 100 bucks or so.

Unfortunate that the crooks were not caught that night... but they will be! MPD's finest will get them!
