A Car Fire on Moose Hill, a Mailbox Vandalism ...

Police responded to a report of a car fire, a firecracker in a mailbox and to a complaint about a speeding BMW.

A Speeding BMW

An Garder Road man filed a traffic complaint Monday about a black BMW speeding through his neighborhood during commuting hours. In one incident, he told officers that the BMW almost clipped him as he backed his vehicle out of his driveway.

The license plate number the resident gave police did not come back for the same vehicle, according to the report.

A Car Fire on Moose Hill

Police dispatch received a report of a car fire in the driveway of a residence on Moose Hill Road at 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

Police said there was thick black smoke coming from under the hood of the vehicle when officers and firefighters arrived on the scene, adding firefighters quickly extinguished it.

The car owner told an officer that she had come back from shopping earlier in the day and parked her car in the driveway, and when she was going back out, she noticed the smoke.

A Loud Bang

At 1:30 on Friday morning, a family on Edgewood Road heard a loud bang outside, looked out the window and saw a vehicle drive away. Police said it was too dark for them to get a description.

The next day when a female resident went to get the mail she saw remnants of a firecracker by the mailbox and noticed that the interior was burned, according to the report. Police estimate that the damaged mailbox will cost $80 to replace.
