A DUI Arrest on Monroe Turnpike

Police arrested a Webb Circle man for DUI after stopping a 2006 Toyota Scion on Monroe Turnpike at 10:27 p.m. on July 4.

Robert Flader, 24, was charged with DUI and improper use of high beams and released on $500 bond for a July 15 court date.

Police said officers on patrol saw the Toyota traveling behind another vehicle with its high beams on and when they stopped the Toyota it struck a curb and narrowly missed a street sign.

Police said Flader was swaying behind the wheel and had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on him. Field sobriety tests led to his arrest and breath tests showed blood alcohol levels over the legal limit, according to police.
