A Report of a 'Squealing' Raccoon on Route 111
Two raccoons had to be euthanized and another was hit by a car in late March, according to Monroe Animal Control.
A woman from the Goodwill Store on Route 111 reported seeing a sick raccoon "squealing" and running through the parking lot, heading west across Monroe Turnpike and into the woods at around 1:58 p.m. on March 21.
The raccoon was later euthanized after an officer caught it on Maplewood Drive at approximately 6:03 p.m. Monroe Animal Control Officer Ed Risko said there were no exposures and no testing was required.
The next day, an officer euthanized a sick or injured raccoon on a Deerfield Lane property at around 1:12 p.m.

The tough week for raccoons continued on March 23, when the carcass of a raccoon struck by a vehicle on Main Street was found on March 26.
