A Sobering Look at Masuk's Mock Crash [Video]

Monroe emergency services personnel and student actors show Masuk seniors that drinking and texting when driving can have fatal consequences.

Masuk High School seniors seated on a grassy hill overlooking the parking lot Wednesday morning listened as narrator, David York, told the story of a two-car crash after one driver became distracted from texting and the other had too much to drink. Student actors, town police officers, firefighters and EMS volunteers took it from there.

The action playing out in the school parking lot included a DUI arrest and two extrications, and ended with a female passenger's body being loaded into a hearse from Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home.

It was the Masuk Mock Crash, which served as a reminder not to drink — or text — and drive. This Friday, the school prom will be held at The Waterview and school leaders want everyone to have a memorable time, while making it home to their families safely.
