A Wood Chipper Accident, Car Accident, Smoke and Leaking Oil

Town firefighters and police had no shortage of emergency calls on Thursday.

Town firefighters had a busy day on Thursday. In addition to the oil leak on Bagburn Hill and Old Zoar roads, units responded to a wood chipper accident on Turkey Roost Road, a "small smokey fire" at M Cubed Technologies on Main Street, and a car accident at the intersection of Fan Hill and Route 111.

Monroe Volunteer Fire Department Spokesman Kevin Catalano said firefighters had to remove a door to free one injured person involved in the car accident.

More minor calls included two fire alarms.

The town is covered by the Monroe, Stevenson and Stepney volunteer fire companies.

The Monroe Volunteer Emergency Service responded to the accident on Route 111.
