A Wood Chipper Accident, Car Accident, Smoke and Leaking Oil

Town firefighters and police had no shortage of emergency calls on Thursday.

Town firefighters had a busy day on Thursday. In addition to the oil leak on Bagburn Hill and Old Zoar roads, units responded to a wood chipper accident on Turkey Roost Road, a "small smokey fire" at M Cubed Technologies on Main Street, and a car accident at the intersection of Fan Hill and Route 111.

Monroe Volunteer Fire Department Spokesman Kevin Catalano said firefighters had to remove a door to free one injured person involved in the car accident.

More minor calls included two fire alarms.

The Monroe Volunteer Emergency Service responded to the accident on Route 111.
