Animal Reports: Wandering Cows and a Possibly Sick Racoon

Check out the most recent dog reports and wildlife casualties.

Jan. 5, eight minutes after midnight, wandering cows were reported on Old Newtown Road at the Purdy Hill Road intersection. Recognized as Benedict's bovine, the owner was contacted. A round-up curtailed the animals' midnight stroll and a verbal warning was issued for un-corralled cows.

Five days later, Jan. 10, the girls were out again, certain that the grass was greener up the road. They were reported at 1:53 p.m. almost in the roadway at Purdy Hill Road and Doc. Silverstone Drive. Benedict's was notified again and issued another verbal warning. The escape artists were properly reprimanded, but were moot on whether they will continue their unscheduled strolls.

Thank You

The Torreso family of Shelton dropped off an extra large wire dog crate. It is much appreciated and can be used to rescue wildlife, as well as, transport or house domestic animals.
