Attempted Burglary at FM One Stop

The glass front door was found broken early Sunday morning.

An attempted burglary was reported at FM One Stop, 447 Monroe Turnpike, on St. Patrick's Day when the owner told police a glass door had been broken. A Dunkin' Donuts employee told the store owner about the door at 6:10 a.m., according to the report.

Police said it appeared that someone had hit the door several times with an unknown object, breaking the glass. However, no entry was gained and nothing was taken. The incident is under investigation, police said.

Wallet Found

One good thing came out of the incident for a 26-year-old Monroe resident. Police said the officer who responded to the call found the man's wallet in the parking lot. It reportedly contained three dollars cash and a $50 gift certificate.

Police said the officer used information in the wallet to return it to its owner, who did not know he had lost it.

Maybe the fact that there is all kinds of drug paraphernalia inside is proving to be a temptation for some.

Knew someone would say something despicable like that. Have some decency and lay off the owner for selling some pipes while he fixes his broken glass door.

You are right. We shouldn't keep money in banks either... It is too much of a temptation for some.

There really needs to be cameras put in that shopping center. I bet the ATM camera or some other camera at those banks or at Dunkin Donuts or at the security store across the street has a picture of who tried to break in!
