A broken tail light led to a DUI arrest for a Newtown man on Sept. 2 when police stopped his '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee heading north on Main Street.
Honorio Ventura, 25, of South Main Street was charged with DUI, operating without insurance, operation with a license suspended or revoked and failure to have tail lamps lit. He was released on $500 bond.
Police said Ventura had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and told the officer he did not have a driver's license with him, instead handed over a Mexican I.D. card. A call to the dispatcher determined that Ventura had a license, but it was suspended, according to the report.
