Burglars Hit Gach Jewelers and a House on Overlook Drive

Police are investigating two burglaries, both reported on Tuesday.

Jewelry Store Heist

Officers responding to an activated burglar alarm at Gach Jewelery, 483 Monroe Turnpike, at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday found the cylinder to the front door had been removed and four display cases were bashed in.

An undetermined amount of jewelry was stolen and detectives investigating the burglary are working with the owner to determine exactly what is missing.

A Residential Burglary

A contractor working on a house on Overlook Drive noticed that a first floor bedroom window had been pushed in and some items were moved inside the home, according to a police report filed on Tuesday.

Police said there was not a lot of damage, adding the homeowner is doing an inventory of her belongings to see if anything was taken.

The burglary took place sometime between 7 p.m. on Monday and 10:29 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.
