Cable Repairman Charged with Sexual Assault

Monroe woman accused cable contractor with making inappropriate advances.

A Charter Communications repairman accused of acting out the beginning of a bad pornographic movie ended up scripting the beginning of a Monroe woman’s horror story.

Monroe police received a complaint on July 19 from a local 18-year-old woman reporting that a Tri-Wire Service Technician for Charter Communications made several unwanted sexual advances, including trying to massage her back.

The repairman, Inpanh Thammavongsa, 18, of Babylon St., Meriden, a contractor with Charter through Tri-Wire, was at the victim’s home Saturday morning to fix a problem with her internet connection.

While Thammavongsa was at the victim’s residence, he allegedly began to massage her back and repeatedly touched her inappropriately, according to police.

After Thammavongsa’s first attempts, the victim left the room and waited for him to finish the repairs. She later called Monroe police after he left to report the incident.

Thammavongsa was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and sexual assault in the fourth degree. He was released on $5,000 bond pending arraignment on July 29.
