Car Goes into a Ravine Off of Hattertown Road

A car had gone off of Hattertown Road, near Indian Ledge, and into a ravine, flipping over onto its side with the driver still inside when police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the accident at 3 a.m. Sunday.

Stepney firefighters removed the woman from the car, which took around 15 minutes due to the awkward position of the vehicle, according to Firefighter Kevin Catalano.

"The driver was treated by Monroe EMS for injuries that did not appear serious," he said. "Emergency crews were kept busy this week, as this was the fifth significant crash within a five-day period in Monroe."
