A former Brookfield cheerleading coach arrested for exchanging nude photographs with a 15-year-old Monroe girl two years ago pleaded guilty to risk of injury to a minor and was sentenced to a three-year suspended term, followed by five years probation, according to the Connecticut Post.
Monroe Patch reported that 30-year-old tumbling coach Manuel Batson of Church Street in Ansonia turned himself in on a warrant on Dec. 14, 2011 in response to a complaint a month earlier.
Batson, who rented space at Northeast Tropics Gym in Brookfield, was then released on $25,000 bond.
This arrest followed a Monroe Police Department investigation of a complaint filed in November of 2011.
According to the Connecticut Post, Batson escaped prison time by pleading guilty last month, and apologized in court for his actions.
The judge ordered Batson to register as a sex offender. He is also prohibited from being employed at a place where he would interact with children and teens in an unsupervised environment, according to the Connecticut Post.
