Code Red: Stay Off the Roads. They Are Not Safe

High gusting winds are still blowing and causing snow drift hazards.

Good morning, today is Saturday, February 9, 2013.  This is a Code Red Emergency Notification from the Monroe Police Department and Monroe Emergency Management.

Winter storm Nemo has left us with a large amount of snow. High gusting winds are still blowing and causing snow drift hazards.

Governor Malloy has ordered a Statewide traffic ban. Monroe roads are at this point mostly impassable. Monroe Highway Department is working to restore Monroe roads and the state roads in the town. STAY OFF THE ROADS. They are not safe to drive on and you will create a hazard for snow removal workers.
