The following is the transcript from a Code Red notification issued by the Monroe Police Department and Monroe Emergency Management on Wednesday afternoon:
Winter Storm "Athena" is in the area and currently bringing in a mixture of snow
and wind. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow.
All citizens are encouraged to review their own personal emergency plans. The
roads in town are icy and becoming snow covered. Please stay off the roads
unless absolutely necessary.
All Monroe Public School activities are cancelled for this evening. The Library will
close at 5 p.m. tonight.
Code Red messages will continue with any emergency notifications, if needed.
