A woman bringing her grandson home from school at 12:16 Tuesday afternoon noticed that a door in back of her daughter's house on Barn Hill Road had been forced open and that a window was removed from it, according to police.
When the grandson went into the house police said he noticed that jewelry had been stolen from his mother's bedroom.
Police said the homeowner is doing an inventory of her belongings to determine exactly what was taken. The burglary is under investigation.
