Update: Driver Hospitalized After Hitting a Tree on Israel Hill Rd

Update, Friday, 10:10 a.m.: Police said the driver was a 33-year-old man, who suffered serious injuries. He was driving a 2004 Honda Odyssey mini van.

Firefighters had to extricate a driver trapped in a vehicle after striking a tree on Israel Hill Road, off of Route 110, at around 12:55 Friday morning. Police and EMS personnel were also on the scene.

The patient was removed from the wreck and brought to St Vincent's Medical Center by Monroe EMS at approximately 1:17 a.m., according to Monroe Fire Department spokesman, Kevin Catalano.
