Drugs May be Safely Disposed of at the Monroe Senior Center

National Take-Back Day is Saturday, Oct. 26.

Expired, unwanted and unused medication in your bathroom cabinet can wind up in the wrong hands, but National Take-Back Day gives the public an opportunity to dispose of it.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, people can bring their unwanted drugs to the Monroe Senior Center, 235 Cutlers Farm Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — and they may do so anonymously.

  • Prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications — tablets and capsules are accepted.
  • Intra-venous solutions, injectables and needles will not be accepted.
  • Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamines are not part of this initiative.

Locally, the National Take-Back Day program is sponsored by the DEA, Monroe Police Department, Monroe Community & Social Services and Monroe TRIAD.
