Erratic Driving Complaints Lead to a DUI Arrest on Main

Officers arrested an Oxford woman for DUI on June 28, after receiving complaints of an erratic driver on Main Street at around 9:50 p.m.

Renee Baker, 34, of Deer Hollow Road was also charged with operating with a suspended license and failure to drive in the proper lane. She was released on $500 bond for a July 8 court date.

On June 28, police said officers observed a 2010 Mazda drifting back and forth within its lane on Main Street, driving to the middle of two lanes near Bradford Green, crossing over the double yellow center line, then jerking back into its own lane.

When police stopped the Mazda, officers noticed the driver, Baker, had constricted pupils, according to the report. Police said she mentioned having taken a prescription for Adderall and Xanax.

Officers found Baker was driving with a suspended registration and field tests determined she was under influence of alcohol and/or other drugs, police said.

Three pills were found on the driver's seat and six more pills on the floor in front of the seat, according to the report. Police said 10 spent heroin folds were in the cup-holder and a hypodermic needle was sticking out the back right area of the driver's seat.

Police said Baker provided a urine sample at headquarters.
