Fairfield Arsonist Pleads Guilty

Christopher Message, 35, could face up to 10 years in prison.

A former Trumbull volunteer firefighter pled guilty on Friday to setting fires in Fairfield, Monroe and Easton last year, The Connecticut Post reports.

Christopher Message, 35, was arrested by , r and for setting numerous fires in the three towns causing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage. 

According to The Post, the prosecutor will seek to send Message to jail for 10 years when he is sentenced in June.

Message had been charged for setting a fire at the restaurant and attempting to set another at Matt & Louie's Barber Shop in separate locations on Main Street in Monroe on Aug. 8. The restaurant was not the primary target in the 494 Main Street shopping center, was.

According to a , Message tried to set the two barber shops on fire after interviewing for jobs at both places.
