Father Wakes Up to $272 in Fines from Daughter's House Party

Officers broke up a party on Hattertown Road with underage drinking, according to police.

A Hattertown Road man awoke to a total of $272 in fines when his 17-year-old daughter threw a house party with underage drinking, according to police.

Officers responding to a complaint at 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 21 reportedly saw several youths in the driveway, who scattered when the police car pulled in. Police said open alcohol containers were in clear sight and the youths officers had spoken to — all from Monroe and under the age of 18 — appeared to have been drinking.

A 17-year-old female took responsibility, telling officers it was her party, police said. She was issued a $136 infraction for possession of alcohol by a minor.
