Jaimie O'Brien, 27, of Hyde Terrace was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault and released on $500 bond for a Feb. 13 court date.

When officers arrived on the scene they saw a 47-year-old Newtown man, with a cut on his forehead and a wound on his finger, standing outside the restaurant. He told them he was playing pool with O'Brien in the backroom of Buffalo Bill's when O'Brien suddenly broke his pool cue across the table and lunged toward another man, police said.

He said O'Brien bit him on the finger as he and several other patrons grabbed O'Brien in an effort to restrain him, according to police, who added that the victim did not know how he cut his forehead — whether it was from someone striking or biting him.

O'Brien told police he was shooting pool when he saw someone touch his girlfriend in an inappropriate manner, threw down the pool cue and went after him before being grabbed by several people and brought to the floor, according to the report.

Police said O'Brien wasn't sure what happened because so many were people restraining him, but knows he bit somebody.
