Fire Log: Four Traffic Accidents, 3 Alarms, 2 Assistance Calls ...

The town's three volunteer fire companies, Monroe, Stepney and Stevenson, responded to 16 incidents during the period of Dec. 12 - Dec. 18.

The calls included: three residential automatic fire alarms; one commercial automatic fire alarm; four motor vehicle accidents; three odor investigations; two public assistance calls, a chimney fire and two carbon monoxide alarms.

Fire Safety Tip: Having your chimney cleaned on a regular basis will prevent a chimney fire excessive creosote buildup can cause a fire that can result in devastating results.

Reminder: All open burning and campfire permits expire as of mid-night December 31, 2011. Contact the Fire Marshal’s Office to renew your permit.
