Fraudulent Charges to BillMeLater Total $600

Fraud, doorbell ringing and car damage.

Identity Theft

A 55-year-old Grist Mill Road man told police Saturday that he had received an invoice from BillMeLater the day before for two purchases totaling $600. However, he did not even have an online account with BillMeLater, according to the report.

Police said a $300 charge was made for a gift certificate to Cabela's sporting goods and a $300 purchase from Ralph Lauren was made on the account.

A 49-year-old Millbrook Terrace woman told police July 25 that her 2011 Toyota Hybrid was damaged after she took a detour to avoid road construction on Wheeler Road and her car went into a ditch on Old Coach Road.

She claims an uneven road led to her accident and that her car's front bumber had gotten scratches on it and that the fuel monitor has been off ever since. Police said a Public Works crew assisted the woman in getting her Toyota out of the ditch.

Ring & Run

Officers contacted the parents of four Monroe boys for allegedly ringing doorbells and knocking on doors and running away in the Indian Ledge Road area Friday night.

Three of the youths were staying at a friend's house at Arrowhead Drive, police said. Three of the boys were age 15 and one was 14.
