Garbage Truck Accident Closes Rte. 111-34 Intersection

The one-vehicle accident was reported at around 5:54 p.m. Tuesday and the road was opened up to traffic again at 6:46.

A garbage man lost control of his truck while heading down Monroe Turnpike at around 5:54 p.m. Tuesday and slid across the intersection of Route 34 before his truck became embedded into a bank, according to police.

Police said the driver was okay, but that the accident tied up traffic until 6:46 p.m. as the truck was pulled back onto the road.
