He Paid $500 for Car Parts on eBay, but Never Got 'Em

Officers are investigating a fraud and wires came down on Purdy Hill Road

A Monroe man told police Thursday afternoon that he agreed to buy about $500 worth of car parts from someone in Wisconsin and sent the money through PayPal, but that his purchase never arrived.

Wires Down on Purdy Hill

The driver of a tractor trailer was making a daily delivery at Chuck's Corner on Main Street at 4:52 p.m. Wednesday when the trailer box of his truck got caught on a low hanging wire on Purdy Hill Road, pulling it down from the utility pole, police said.

Purdy Hill Road had to be closed so SNET employees could remove the wire from the truck and reattach it to the utility pole, according to the report. Police said AT&T was notified of the accident.

The driver told officers he makes the same delivery every day without any problems and police said he was not at fault.
