Investigation Leads to An Arrest for a Burglary on East Village Road

A Nickel place man turned himself in on a warrant Tuesday morning charging him with a residential burglary on East Village Road last November.

Alexander Farrell, 24, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny, held on $150,000 bond and arraigned in court the same day.

On Nov. 22, police said an East Village Road woman reported about $5,000 worth of jewelry missing from a cabinet in her master bedroom.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry to the house, however, the homeowner reported that the electric garage door opener was disengaged from the door itself, making the door unsecured.

The burglary is believed to have taken place sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on date of report.

Lt. Brian McCauley said an extensive investigation by the Monroe Police Department's Detective Division led to the application of a warrant for Alexander Farrell's arrest.
