Is Anyone Missing a Beagle?

A female beagle has been staying at the dog pound since Aug. 29.

A Williams Road woman called Easton Police when she saw a beagle wandering around on Hattertown Road in the morning on Aug. 29. She took the dog to her house and held it for a Monroe Animal Control officer.

Police said there was no match for a missing beagle in the area and that both Easton and Newtown animal control were notified.

The beagle, whose estimated age is between 2 and 10 years, is still staying at the Monroe Animal Shelter at 447 Purdy Hill Road. An animal control officer said she has named the dog "Beatrice".
