Man Convicted in a String of Burglaries, Some in Monroe

Information on the conviction of Douglas Fast compiled from reports.

Douglas Fast, 48, of Everett Street in Stratford was recently convicted of burglaries in several towns, including three in Monroe, and sentenced in Milford Superior Court to 15-years in prison, suspended after serving six years, according to the Connecticut Post.

A report in Stratford Patch says Fast was originally taken into custody by Seymour police after he led them on a car chase through that town.

Fast allegedly stole about $224,000 worth of jewelry and other goods during the spree, which included burglaries in Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Orange, Seymour, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull and Westport, according to the New Haven Register.

All three Monroe burglaries took place in November at residences on Wheeler Road, Route 111 and Moose Hill Road, according to police.
