Monroe Firefighters Assist in Fighting Easton Blaze

A fire was reported at a house on Judd Road in Easton at around 6 p.m.

EASTON — Several residents living on the Hattertown section of town saw smoke and heard sirens and a series of explosions at around 6 p.m. Friday. A house fire was reported on Judd Road in Easton — near the Monroe border.

Kevin Catalano, spokesman for the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, said the explosions people heard were from fireworks stored inside the house.

Tankers from Monroe's fire companies and other towns were brought in to assist the Easton Volunteer Fire Department with tankers, because there are no hydrants in the area, according to Catalano.
