Monroe Firefighters Search for Missing Orange Girl

Isabella Oleschuk,13, has been missing since Sunday

A crew of Monroe volunteer firefighters spent Tuesday afternoon in Orange searching for Isabella Oleschuk, 13, who has been missing since Sunday. They joined hundreds of other emergency personnel and volunteers in searching wooded areas near the girl's home.

However, all leads have come up empty so far. Isabella's family will make a statement at 11 a.m. today and investigators will give a brief update on the case.

Kevin Catalano, Monroe Volunteer Fire Department spokesman, said police agencies often call upon volunteer firefighters during missing person searches for their manpower and because they have equipment such as radios, hand lights, and thermal imaging cameras.

Catalano recalled that Monroe firefighters have assisted in other missing person searches in Monroe over the years including a couple of small children who wandered off of their properties and one elderly man with dementia. In each of those cases, the missing person was located fairly quickly.
