A Monroe man was arrested Tuesday in connection to an alleged hit and run in Fairfield, police said.

Danny Ferreira, 31, of Stonybrook Drive, was charged with evading responsibility and following too close after the car he was driving allegedly struck the rear of another vehicle and then drove off, according to the report.

The complainant told police that his car was struck from behind on Black Rock Turnpike, and showed police the damage to the left rear bumper. The victim gave police a description of the striking vehicle and its driver -- police found the suspect car and driver on Stratfield Road.

After determining that Ferreira and his vehicle matched the complainant's description -- and noting the damage to the car's front bumber -- police transported to Ferreiera to headquarters and charged him, according to the report.
