Allegedly broke into a Hamden landscaping business in October.

A Monroe man was arrested Christmas day for allegedly breaking in to a Hamden business in October.

Laurance Bardinelli Jr., 24, of 1 Castlewood Dr., Monroe, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.

The arrest stems from an Oct. 20 incident when Hamden Police responded to on the report of a larceny, according to Hamden police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

When officers got there, they found that someone had forced their way into the building and taken $15,000 in power tools, Smith said. Officer Nicholas D’Angelo conducted the investigation and submitted an arrest warrant for Bardinelli to the court, which was approved.

On Dec. 25 Bardinelli was detained by the Monroe Police Department on an unrelated incident, Smith said, and was then turned over to the custody of the Hamden Police Department.
