Monroe Police Union Seeks Financial Support

The Monroe Police Union sponsors an annual fishing derby, the Connecticut Special Olympics, the Girl Scouts of America, the Monroe Food Pantry and Masuk High School's anti-bullying program among numerous community organizations and causes.

Now the men and women in blue are asking for townspeople's support by making a donation to the union's annual fundraising campaign.

In a press release, Monroe Police Union Local 1775 says money from annual donations benefit the community by allowing officers to assist with local programs and local.

Checks should be made payable to the Monroe Police Union and mailed to 7 Fan Hill Road, Monroe CT 06468. All proceeds benefit the union, which is a tax exempt 501-(c)5 organization.

The union says all donations make a difference, no matter the size. However, car decals and magnets are being given out for certain amounts.  

Those making a $25 donation will receive a silver "Support MPD Union" car window decal; a $50 donation a gold decal and a donation of $100 or more a gold "Support MPD Union" bumper magnet.
