Monroe Robbery Suspect Charged with Shelton Larceny

This story is written by Aaron Leo and posted by Bill Bittar.

Nicholas Debenedetto, 20, of Theodore Road, Shelton, is charged with second-degree breach of the peace and second-degree criminal mischief.

Police said Debenedetto damaged a car's body and punctured a tire earlier this year.

Debenedetto is also accused of conspiring in June to rob someone outside of a Monroe gas station before fleeing in a car.

The car was later found in front of Debenedetto's home, and he was later identified by the victim as the man who threatened and tried to rob him, police said.

Monroe officers recovered a black-handled spring-loaded knife from Debenedetto, as well as multiple baggies of suspect marijuana and a bottle of pills, according to police.
