Monroe VEMS Offers Community CPR/AED Training

Training for the community will be held at the Chalk Hill Training Center.

Monroe VEMS will conduct CPR/AED training for the community on Tuesday Sept. 25 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Chalk Hill Training Center. To register for the class call Marge Brenna, 203-261-9069, or visit the website,monroevems.org and click on Public Training.

This American Heart Association Program covers the updated material and guidelines for CPR and relief of choking for Adult, Child and Infant, as well as training in the use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator.) All participants will receive a  two-year certification card and student manual, skill reminder cards and a CD containing video clips and additional information.

This course is designed for lay people who require a credential for completion. This is not a Healthcare Provider course. The cost is $25 per person, which covers the cost of the book and card. All instructors are Monroe Volunteer EMS members who volunteer their time, and MVEMS provides the space, and other materials and supplies necessary for the course.

The course fee is payable the night of the course. Participants must be 12 years of age or older. Pre-registration is required. EMS needs a minimum of six people to hold the class and can accommodate up to 18 people.
