A Pitbull Halts Mail Delivery in a Fairfield Neighborhood for Days

A roaming pitbull in a neighborhood in Fairfield. The dog reportedly bit a mail carrier and USPS felt the carrier was in danger.

A found in a parking lot at 447 Purdy Hill Road in Monroe at 11:26 a.m. on May 16 was captured and released in a location that is safe from traffic, according to police. More sightings should soon be expected, because June is known as "Snapping Turtle Month", a time when female turtles leave the water and travel several miles on land, so they can lay their eggs. A Monroe family who found a snake at approximately 9:54 a.m. on May 13 thought it was a baby Boa Constrictor, but an Animal Control officer identified it as an adult . (See photo with story link).

A UPS driver was approached twice within five days in Darien by someone who wanted to  rather than wait to have it delivered, according to Darien police. In each case, it was the same man approaching the driver, who recognized him the second time.

The man showed the driver identification indicating he was the same person for whom the packages were being delivered, except the driver's licenses he showed the delivery man were for different people at different addresses. Both times, the driver refused to hand over the packages. The actual residents at each address were victims of identity theft and had been charged for the items, police said.

A Wilton mom was arrested for on May 8 after a witness saw her crash into a concrete column at a gas station mulitple times resulting in a flat tire and damage to the right side of the car.

Hi Steve, The comment stream doesn't appear on the homepage in the new design. Some of the sitesRead More that went 2.0 before mine did heard complaints about that. I don't know if it will be changed or not. Right now Patch is gathering all feedback.
