Police: Driver Nearly Hits Building at McDonald's Drive-Thru

The incident led to the DUI arrest of a Trumbull woman Saturday.

The manager of McDonald's, 390 Monroe Turnpike, called police when a customer who drove up to the drive-thru window nearly struck the building with her '95 Mazda pickup truck at around 12:18 Saturday morning, according to police.

Police said the driver, Allison Loxsom, 49, of Madison Avenue in Trumbull, was allegedly confused and had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her when officers arrived on the scene and approached her sitting in her truck.

Field sobriety tests determined Loxsom was under the influence and she was arrested for DUI, police said, adding officers found a metal smoking pipe and a small amount of suspected marijuana in her purse.

At police headquarters, breath test results showed a blood alcohol content higher than the legal limit, according to the report.

In addition to DUI, Loxsom was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and issued an infraction for possession of less-than-a-half-ounce of marijuana. She was released on $500 bond for an Oct. 29 court date.
