Police Link Audi Stolen in Monroe to Burglaries

Officers found the stolen car abandoned in Trumbull.

A 2000 Audi stolen from a Pastors Walk resident was found by Trumbull police in their town in the early morning of Oct. 5. Officers say it matches the description of a car involved in several burglaries in multiple towns during the night.

Monroe police assisting in the case questioned the car owner, who told them he was unaware his car was taken and thought it was in his driveway, according to the report. Police said he produced all sets of keys to the car.

The Audi owner told officers his wallet was in the car and it contained $50 cash, a credit card and personal papers, police said, adding he cancelled his credit card when the officers were present.
