Police: Monroe Woman Embezzled Thousands from Milford Employer

Antonina Yovino, who was employed as an office manager for the Bargain Tile & Stone Company, is accused of stealing more than $29,000 from the Milford-based business over a six-month period.

A Monroe woman is facing charges she embezzled money from the Milford business she worked for, according to police.

Antonina Yovino, 56, of Cutlers Farm Road in Monroe, was arrested by Milford Police on Feb. 20 via warrant.

According to Milford Police Public Information Officer Jeffrey Nielsen, the department received a complaint from Yovino’s employer — The Bargain Tile & Stone Company — regarding missing funds from the company.

"Several suppliers which the company utilized for business transactions had complained to the victim business regarding lack of payment regarding their accounts," Nielsen stated in a press release. 

Yovino, who was employed as an office manager for company, is accused of stealing $29,100 from the Milford-based business from July 2013 to January 2014.

Nielsen stated that Milford Police investigators executed a search and seizure warrant on Feb. 20 at Yovino’s Monroe residence, "and discovered additional information regarding this investigation."

"Information revealed that Yovino was conducting business transactions involving her own business NY Studio Stone LLC and the victim business," Nielsen said.
