Stolen formula

A man stole two hand-held baskets of baby formula from Stop & Shop, 470 Monroe Turnpike, June 23 and ran out of the store.

Police said the suspect hopped into an older model gray pickup truck driven by an another white male and took off.

Nineteen cans of powdered baby formula with a total value of $256 were taken during the incident, according to the complaint made at 3:25 p.m.

Theft of tools

Tools worth a total of $360 were reported stolen Friday from the garage of a house under construction on Old Zoar Road.

Police said the items included a nailing and a framing gun, adding they have identified a suspect.

Narcotics arrest

A police officer stopped a vehicle on Route 34 because it was driving without its taillights on at 12:28 a.m. Thursday, and the routine traffic stop led to a narcotics arrest, according to police.

Austen M. Davelaar, 21, of Buckskin Lane in Oxford was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to have taillights. He was released on $1,000 surety bond for a July 2 court date.

Davelaar was acting nervous and suspicious upon being stopped, so the officer asked him if he had anything illegal, police said.

When the officer told him a canine was coming to the scene, police said he admitted to having three folds of heroine and used needles.

DUI arrest

A Bart Road man was arrested for drunken driving at 11:24 p.m. Saturday after police said his car veered into oncoming traffic on Route 25 --- near Knollwood Street.

Gary Noble, 41, was charged with failure to drive in the established lane and driving under the influence. He was released on $500 bond for a July 6 court date.

According to police, Noble was traveling north on Main Street when his car crossed into the southbound lane.

The officer smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Noble after stopping his vehicle, police said, adding an empty bottle of vodka was in the car.

Noble failed field sobriety tests at the scene and a breath test at headquarters, according to police.

Shoplifting alleged

A Westport woman turned herself in on a warrant Friday for an alleged shoplifting incident.

Franca R. Passarelli, 54, of North Main Street was charged with sixth-degree larceny. She was released on $1,000 bond for a July 2 court date.

Two for one

A traffic stop led to charges from two police departments for a Norwalk man Saturday.

Frederick G. Zinsser, 34, was pulled over on Monroe Turnpike --- near Old Coach Road --- at 2 a.m. and charged with operating with a license under suspension and failure to have headlights, according to police.

He was released on $250 bond, before being turned over to Norwalk police on their warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.

Zinsser was released from custody in Norwalk on $1,000 bond.
