Police Phase in Ford Interceptors

Ford discontinued its Crown Victorias, the traditional make of Monroe's police cars, so the department will gradually replace its older models with Ford Police Interceptors.

Chief John Salvatore's department is also moving away from the color silver for its police cruisers.

Capt. Michael Flick said, "The new Interceptors are a police purposed built vehicle with an all-wheel drive train. All new cruisers will be of this new style and black and white design."

One of the new models is already in the parking lot outside the Monroe Police Department's headquarters at 7 Fan Hill Road.
