A case of a phony signature led to charges against a local man Friday after he tried to buy alcohol at Glen Ro Spirit Shoppe, 487 Monroe Turnpike.
Sometime around 8 p.m. Friday, police were notified by an employee of the liquor store that an underage man used a fake ID to buy alcohol.
According to the report, the store clerk told police that a man came into the store and presented a license she was not comfortable with.

The clerk then asked the man to sign an age statement verification form. It did not match the signature on the license and she contacted police.
Following an investigation Police identified the man as Tyler Miressi, 19, of Jockey Hollow Road.

Miressi was arrested at his home and charged with criminal impersonation.
He was released on a promise to appear in Brisgeport Superior Court on Sept. 17.
