Thieves enter through unlocked door during Barn Hill Road burglary

Barn Hill Road Home Burglarized

An unlocked door allowed burglars to steal $15,000 in jewelry and electronic equipment from a Barn Hill Road home Saturday.

According to police, the Barn Hill Road couple reported the burglary Saturday morning shortly after returning home to find an open window to the garage.

The burglars entered through the garage which led to an unlocked inside door to the house.

The residents told police they checked their belongings and discovered many necklaces and rings missing from a jewelry box in the master bedroom.

In addition to the jewelry, an i-Pod MP3 player was also taken from the residence.

No monetary value for the i-Pod was reported.

Police are investigating the incident.
