Police Reports: A Copper Caper

Copper piping was reported stolen from a vacant house.

A real estate agent reported copper piping stolen from a vacant house on Hattertown Road Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the house was in foreclosure and sold to the real estate company before the agent noticed the piping was missing. Police said scrap yards pay good money to buy copper, which is later sold and melted down for reuse.
