A Lewd Comment

A young female employee of the Lake Zoar Drive-In on Route 34 made a complaint about an harassing phone call she received around 5:44 Friday night.

The employee takes orders over the phone and police said a man called and made a lewd comment, telling the woman that she had taken his order at the eatery 15 minutes earlier. She told her manager that she recognized the voice as that of a customer who came in earlier, according to police.

Police said they are working with the phone company in their investigation of the incident.

Theft from Vehicle

A theft from a motor vehicle was reported on Sunday night, though police said the incident had actually taken place the previous night.

The victim told an officer he had parked outside Mac's Canteen on Main Street and came back to his 2003 Chevy Blazer two hours later to find contents from his glove compartment lying on the front passenger seat.

Missing was a black and gray High Sierra backpack containing a $100 calculator, two textbooks, notebooks and pens, according to the report. Due to mechanical problems, police said the victim told them he cannot lock his doors.
