Police Reports: A Motor Scooter, a Canoe and a Rowboat

Youths trespassed on Lakewood Estates in all kinds of ways

Trespassing on the Lake

The treasurer of the Lakewood Estates Association complained about several trespassing incidents on its property in the Jockey Hollow Road area.

Police said two male Monroe youths used a motor scooter there without permission on May 13, then seven boys took a canoe out onto the water. On June 3, four youths were seen in a rowboat, according to the report.

Lt. Brian McCauley said the treasurer told officers the boys did not have permission to be on the property and that the association was concerned over liability should they be injured there.

Police identified the youths and spoke with their parents. McCauley said they should not be returning to the lake.
