Police Reports: 'An Overwhelming Odor of Marijuana'

A Trumbull man was arrested on narcotics possession charges following a traffic stop on Monroe Turnpike

A Trumbull man was arrested for narcotics possession at 11:14 Tuesday night, after an officer stopped his white, Toyota Corolla on Monroe Turnpike (south of Spring Hill Road) for having no front registration plate and a broken rear taillight, according to the report.

John P. Dosky, 19, of Quaker Lane was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana (over half an ounce). Bond was set at $500 for an Aug. 11 court date.

Dosky received a verbal warning for the motor vehicle violations.

When the officer approached the Toyota, police said there was an overwhelming odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Dosky was asked to step out of the car and police said he told the officer there was pot in the glove box.

Inside, police said there was a piece of plastic wrap containing a leafy green substance. Police also found a multicolored glass pipe with burnt residue on it, according to the report.
