Damage To Masuk Athletic Fields and Resident Reports Debit Card Fraud
Vandals Strike at High School
Police are investigating a break in at Masuk High School athletic fields Wednesday that included damage to sports equipment, missing T-shirts and a couple of roughed up "dummies."
Police received a call at approximately 8:15 a.m. reporting that three 6x5 foot lacrosse nets on the high school's softball field were slashed.

The report additionally indicated that a lacrosse goal post frame was forcibly cracked in half.
The athletic equipment is the property of Monroe Youth Lacrosse Association, which is currently conducting a summer camp at the high school.

According to Monroe Police Lt. Brian McCauley, while officers were searching the area for other damage, it was discovered a door to the announcer's booth at the football field was kicked in and a box of T-shirts was missing.
Police also discovered that plastic coverings on two tackling dummies used by the football team were slashed.
The damaged lacrosse nets are valued at $450 and the goal post frame is valued at $250.
No property values were provided for the T-shirts or the tackling dummies, according to the report.
The case is under investigation.
Unwanted Bills
A Hillside Lane resident reported to police Wednesday that he discovered $944.74 in fraudulent charges on his debit card.
According to police, the multiple charges on the card — issued by Newtown Saving Bank where the resident has an account — were made in Massachusetts.
The case is under investigation.
