Police Reports: Ding Dong! Attempted Burglary on Field Rock Road

Officers responded to the report of an attempted burglary on Field Rock Road and are investigating the theft of a payroll check from an SPCA of CT employee.

Burglary Attempt

An attempted burglary of a house on Field Rock Road was reported on April 19.

The homeowner, a 61-year-old resident, told police he heard his doorbell ring at around 4 a.m., turned on an outside light and looked out a window, but did not see anyone. Later that morning, he noticed the screen door to his deck had been damaged, according to the report.

Police said there is a doorbell by the door where attempted entry to the house had been made, adding it does not appear that anyone got inside the house.

A Stolen Check

SPCA of CT, a dog rescue facility at 359 Spring Hill Road, reported the theft of a $300 payroll check on April 19.

Police said someone had cashed it at X-Bankers on Boston Avenue in Bridgeport. The incident is under investigation.
